Ready for the Houston Tech Takeoff? LandPark Office Leasing Brokers Can Help
March 17, 2014
According to Paul Siegele, the president of Chevron Corp.'s Energy Technology Company and chairman of the board of the Houston Technology Center, tech will be the next boom for the area. Siegele stated in a recent article in the Houston Business Journal that, with a new campus at the Johnson Space Center and a partnership with the Texas Medical Center, the Houston Technology Center believes that Houston's entrepreneurs will see increased opportunities -- and investment -- in the near future.
Siegele said that Chevron, in particular, is interested in technologies that involve deepwater and the ability to lift oil from the sea floor. In addition, he stated, there is an importance in his industry for technologies related to seismic imaging, heavy oil, liquified natural gas and unconventional resources. He said that energy and medicine are Houston's natural strengths when it comes to technology, though the area plays an important part of a number of technologies in the world.
